Female Support Worker
Location: Lancaster
Pay: £13.66 per hour (weekly or monthly pay available)
Hours: 24-hour contract - You must be available to work days and night shifts
Day shifts: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 20:00pm, Saturday- Sunday 8:00am - 20:00pm
Waking Night shifts: Sunday - Thursday 20:00pm - 8:00am, Friday - Saturday 20:00pm - 9:00am
We are looking for a dedicated support worker to provide one-to-one care for a young person with complex needs. As they are non-verbal, you will need to be attentive to their eye contact and facial expressions to understand their needs and wants. They have a unique living arrangement, splitting their time between their mum's home in Lancaster and their dad's home on alternate weeks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personal care, including PEG care, nutrition, hydration, and administering medication
- Monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels.
- Managing seizures and administering buccal medication when required
- Supporting the use of CPAP equipment overnight
- Assisting with daily living tasks and personal care routines
- Enabling participation in chosen activities and supporting attendance at appointments
Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs is desirable.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- You must be a compassionate, reliable person who is committed to delivering person‑centred care.
- You should be comfortable working a variety of shifts, including days and nights, and able to travel between both family homes.
- Experience supporting individuals with a range of communication impairments is required.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to enhancing an individual’s quality of life are essential qualities for this role.
