Job Introduction

Team Leader - Healthcare Sector
Pay rate: £16.00 - Weekly or Monthly pay
Shift Pattern: 30 hours on shift and 6 hours Admin - 22 and 24 hour shifts working a day shift and sleep in shift

You will need to have a full UK drivers license.

Are you an experienced Team Leader with a strong understanding of Autism? We’re looking for someone calm, patient, and confident in leading a support team to provide consistent, person‑centred care for an adult who thrives on routine, enjoys being active, and benefits from clear, steady communication.

About the Client

You’ll be supporting an adult with Autism and Learning Disabilities who lives a busy, structured life and enjoys being out and about every day. He is very close to his parents and values familiar, supportive people around him. His interests include:

  • Being outdoors and walking at National Trust properties
  • Going to the gym
  • Cinema trips
  • Eating out
  • Cooking and exploring food

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining direct support with team management. Duties include:

Direct Support

  • Supporting daily life skills and routines
  • Encouraging healthy budgeting and spending habits
  • Attending activities, meals out, and community outings
  • Helping maintain his home environment
  • Communicating clearly, calmly, and at a steady pace
  • Working sensitively around his daily challenges and emotional needs

Team Leadership

  • Creating and managing rotas
  • Completing payroll reconciliation
  • Conducting supervisions and mentoring staff
  • Role‑modelling best practice in Autism‑informed support
  • Ensuring GDPR, safeguarding, and professional boundaries are upheld at all times
  • Supporting the team to deliver consistent, structured, person‑centred care

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience supporting individuals with Autism
  • Strong experience in a Team Leader position within the healthcare sector
  • A calm, patient, steady communicator
  • Someone who can explain things clearly and take time to ensure understanding
  • A confident leader who can guide, mentor, and motivate a team
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and GDPR
  • Ability to balance independence, safety, and positive risk‑taking
  • Creative thinking around budgeting and activity planning
