 Shift Pattern: 20:00-08:00

We are seeking a Female Night Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team, providing 1:1 care and support to a wonderful lady living at home with her family in Portland.

She has Perisylvian Polymicrogyria and requires specialist, round-the-clock support from a consistent and caring team. As she is non-verbal, you will learn to understand and respond to her unique ways of communicating, helping to ensure her needs, preferences, and wellbeing are always at the centre of the support provided. Full training will be given, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced support workers and those looking to develop their skills in complex care.

This is a highly rewarding role supporting a lady who brings warmth, happiness, and a wonderful personality to those around her. You'll become an important part of her support network, helping to provide reassurance, comfort, and high-quality care throughout the night

Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:

  • Full UK driving licence and confidence driving the client's vehicle.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or behaviours of concern.
  • Experience with non‑verbal communication and complex needs is helpful but not essential.
  • You should be kind, patient, caring, reliable, consistent and confident in your role
  • Willing to learn specific communication cues.
  • Happy to engage in sensory, creative, and play‑based activities.
  • Confident supporting an individual to access their local community and participate in social activities.
  • Ability to promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in a variety of situations.
  • Comfortable working within the family home with a cat.
  • Able to work as part of a small, stable team.
